ProtectBox has secured part of the Innovate UK Sustainable Innovation Fund to keep the UK’s greenest, most innovative businesses thriving as part of the government’s commitment to build back better in the Government’s modern Industrial Strategy. It is run by UK Research and Innovation.
ProtectBox will extend their current cybersecurity comparison website and marketplace for businesses, to new consumer, enterprise, government & infrastructure customers. In addition, ProtectBox will be offering all their customers a new NetZero score on the products and services available to buy through their web and mobile platform. This will enable their customers to make purchasing choices based on the carbon neutrality of the companies supplying the products and services they are buying. In a similar way to offsetting the carbon impact of buying a flight.
Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £191 million to fund single and collaborative research and development projects as part of the Sustainable Innovation Fund over the next two years.
The Sustainable Innovation Fund is funding 1,103 projects, 1189 UK businesses, and totalling over £130 million in support across the UK. The aim of this fund is to help all sectors of the UK rebuild after the effects of COVID-19, while helping the UK meet its ambitions to cut carbon emissions to net zero by 2050. This funding was provided through the Government’s modern industrial strategy by UK Research and Innovation.
